| Hey people who read my site - I had such a good time at church tonight! I loved sitting with all my boys and telling them to shush...what else am I there for? Seriously though, I would have let you all laugh as much as you wanted if all the grown ups hadnt been giving me a hard time.
Props to my girls who dressed up with me, it's awesome to have a mind of your own, isnt it? To those of you who didnt dress up, for whatever reason, here are my thoughts. Take them or leave them. If you want to be an anarchist, your own person, make a statement by not doing what everyone else is doing, that is cool. Trying to get everyone else to do it with you sort of defeats the purpose of being an individual, dont you think? If you are one of the ones who does or doesnt do something based on what someone else tells you to do, thats something to think about. You are all beautiful and strong and I know that you can make your own decisions.
If you do what you want and have a reason, that is always something defensable even if its rude or out of line. If you do something out of line or rude because someone else told you to....I dont even know what to say about that. I heard some things tonight and I am disappointed. More than anything I want to see you girls grow into healthy and happy women who respect themselves and know the right way to treat other people. I am proud (most of the time) to call you my friends. I write this tonight because I am worried about decisions that some of you make, and I am concerned in particular about a personality change that I have seen in one of you.
I know I havent been around as much, but any of you can pick up the phone and call me anytime. If its midnight and I have to study and I have to be at work the next morning or WHATEVER...I will still be there for any of you.
Love you girls | | |
| Hello everyone--
Thanks for all the comments I feel so loved . I am watching The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown I love the Peanuts shows. Other than that nothing is really going on, just enjoying not working tonight! I can't wait to see everyone tomorrow night, I look forward to Wednesday's all week. Have you ever noticed that Snoopy is kind of a smartass on those shows? I am glad that my doggie is sweet. There are so many movies out that I want to see right now, and I have no time to see them. How depressing is that. Don't worry (I know you were) I all ready took off work for the night of the sleepover at Michelles so I sure hope that some people are planning on coming. I bought the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants so my collection of sappy girl movies is rapidly expanding.
I have been thinking alot lately about what it means to be content. That is such a hard word to define and it means different thing to different people. I think contentment is really the base of what makes people happy. What makes some people content with being a "normal" person, wife or husband, mother or father? What makes other people want to travel the world, or give up everything to do missionary work? What makes some people not want to finish high school and others to get medical or academic degrees? Why do you think the things that make us happy make us happy? Just putting it out there. Talk to you all later.
Quote of the Day: "You tell yourself that you're not pretty, look at you you're beautiful. Tell yourself that no one see's Plain Jane, Invisible me, just tell yourself. Tell yourself you'll never be like the anorexic girls in the magazines. No bargain basement Barbie Doll no Dame du jour, no femme fatale, just tell yourself." - don't know, it's part of a song | | |
| Hey people, I am back for a while. I have been so busy lately that I thought this would be a good way to keep in touch since I am busy waiting tables again on the weekends. It kills my feet but I am making some really nice cash! I am watching the dogs go nuts running around the living room, it's pretty funny. I just wanted to make a comment for all of everyone that I have been missing on Wednesday nights at church. I am sure that you know who you are. I like to think that since this is my fourth year with the high schoolers in our youth group, that something I have said at one time or another may have stuck in your heads. I want to see everyone there, every week. The main reason that you should be at church is to worship and learn about God. We also have a good time, as you know, talking with each other, discussing current events and how they impact us as Christians, etc. Because someone is there that you don't like for whatever reason, or people don't like you, or you had a fight, or are dating the same person that someone else used to, etc, this is all a non-factor when it comes to deciding that you are not going to be at church. Basically, anyone who uses any of those reasons is lying. They aren't reasons, they are excuses. I would appreciate it if everyone would be honest instead of lying. if you don't want to come to church because you don't like it, it's boring, you don't think you are learning anything, you don't know what you believe, you believe that the way you live your life outside of church prevents you from coming to church and learning (crap, by the way). Tell the truth. Be the beautiful young adults that you are. I miss each of you every week when you don't come, and I pray for all of the hard decisions and situations in your lives. I am hurt, which is the main reason that I wrote all of this. I am also concerneed, because I care about you all. I want to see you, at least one night a week, and know that you are in a safe place and that you are making good decisions. Gotta go, I love you everyone!

| Today is Friday, thank goodness. Tomorrow our kitchen remodeling will be done, or it would be if I wasnt such a dumbass!! I glued the tiles behind the sink down too far away from the wall and now the sink won't fit in the hole! I am an idiot and now we have to fix that before we can put the sink in and be done. I am so tired of eating out, I think my fat butt might actually start to lose weight if this lasts much longer. Anyway, thats all for now, it's friday and I have sooo much to do. Not . I am going to see Raising Helen tomorrow with my buddy from second grade, I am looking forward to it and I love Kate Hudson. Speaking of movies, there is a movie called the Aviator coming out in December i think, which I highly recommend you all go see as it stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jude Law in the same film. Doesnt that sound like a quality flick or what? Signing off, ya'll have a good weekend. | | |
